Turner ECS supplies Woodward liquid control and trip/block valves for heavy frame gas turbines and aero-derivative gas turbines. Fuel control valves are available in several sizes with either hydraulic or electric actuation.


The LQ6 provides the flow range, accuracy, and response characteristics necessary for the control of industrial gas turbines in the 3 MW to 15 MW power range.The LQ6 incorporates an electrically actuated rotary metering valve, a bypassing regulator, and an on-board driver module. 

The valve driver and wiring terminal box are integral with the valve assembly, eliminating interconnecting wiring, reducing package size requirements. 


The on-board driver can be interfaced to the turbine control via a (4 to 20) mA input and feedback signals or through a DeviceNet™ */CANopen network. The LQ6 can be configured to accept both the (4 to 20) mA signal and DeviceNet/CANopen position command in a redundant configuration.

Woodward’s LQ25T liquid fuel metering valve is designed for use on industrial and aero-derivative gas turbine engines in the 6000 kW to 42 000 kW output power range. The valve is a two-way flow control valve utilizing a throttling type delta P regulator. This allows the valve to control pressure drop across the metering port without bypassing fuel, making it ideal for centrifugal or other pressure source type fuel pumping systems.

The LQ25T valve is compatible with diesel fuels, JP series, naphthas, kerosenes,  gasolines, and other distillates conforming to nationally or internationally recognized standards for utility, marine and aviation gas turbine service.

ELMV Liquid Fuel Control Valve
ELMV Liquid Fuel Control Valve
Woodward’s Electric Liquid Metering Valve controls liquid fuel flow into various stages of an industrial gas turbine combustion system. The valve and all-electric actuator are integrated for precise fuel control under all operating conditions.

The valve section of the ELMV consists of a flow controller and a throttling pressure regulator. The regulator maintains a constant differential pressure across the control plug and seat. Plugs are contoured to provide an equal percent flow characteristic.
LSOV25 Liquid Shutoff Valve

The liquid shutoff valve is a three-way valve designed to rapidly shut off all liquid fuel flow and prevent leakage to the turbine. In the de-energized state, the valve diverts inlet flow to bypass ports, preventing pressure damage to positive displacement fluid systems.

The Woodward liquid shutoff valve is a two-stage valve. It uses supply pressure to provide a complete shutoff of fuel flow in 0.09 seconds or less after termination of a solenoid current. Valve closure is due to spring compression assisted by supply pressure. 

An inlet screen in the valve prevents contaminants in excess of 40 µm, nominal, from damaging the pilot valve section.
